The title of Waukesha BluesFest “An American Music and Art Festival” was chosen for the festival based on the vast popularity of the “Blues” music genre nationwide as well as the wide swath of American music which falls under the general umbrella of Blues. These include traditional and contemporary Blues, Rhythm and Blues (R&B), Soul, Gospel and Roots music, as well as Country and Rock and Roll influences.

Since the debut of the festival we have been proud to present some great national acts including Nikki Hill, The Steepwater Band, Harper, The James Hunter Six, Moreland & Arbuckle, Booker T. and The MG’s, Mavis Staples, Shemekia Copeland, The Holmes Brothers, Ollabelle, Eddie Shaw, Smokin’ Joe Kubek Band featuring Bnois King, Patrick Sweany, Doyle Bramhall, Popa Chubby, The Bel Airs, Bryan Lee, Tarbox Ramblers, Sonny Landreth, Gina Sicilia, Greg Koch, Big James Montgomery, Tommy Castro Band, Chris Duarte Group, Duke Tumatoe & The Power Trio, Samuel James, Shane Dwight, John Mayall and Savoy Brown.

The winner of First Place in the Waukesha BluesFest 2014 Poster Contest is Laura Kestly. Laura has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh.

She is an award-winning artist in a variety of venues, previous winner of The Waukesha BluesFest Poster Contest in 2012, Good Harvest Recycled Art Contest and two-time Purchase Prize Winner of the Spring Creek Art Show. She is married and lives with her husband, two sons and English bulldog in the Town of Delafield.

The Second Place winner in the contest is Deb Muraro of Dousman and taking Third Place is Amy Franczak of Summit.
